Studio Calico Handbook + Snippets project :)

I've never been shy about admitting that I love making a mini album...there's something neat about collecting photos + stories about a specific time/place/event that makes everything fall into place nicely. Today I'm sharing an album I made for the Studio Calico booth at CHA this month...I can't wait to get this project back in my hands, because I fell in love with at as I went along.

I used the Snippets line from the new SC release for my album, and this is the cover of the chipboard album from that collection. There is also a cool fabric covered album, but I love the simplicity of this one. I painted it and just added the Days of the Week tabbed inserts that are part of Snippets + some vintage trim, twine and one of the wood veneer geotags.
The inside pages are designed for quick + simple assembly. 3x4 and 4x6 slots take so much of the guesswork out of where to place things. I used this album as a 2012 Year in Review for our family...so each spread included a photo from either 1 or 2 months + an overall 'what we did' that I typed on the Months journaling cards.

I. LOVE. SPEECH BUBBLES. This collection has an awesome 12x12 mask of different sized/shaped speech bubbles. I placed in on top of one of the inserts and grabbed some Pinstripe (grey) mist...then I outlined a few of the bubbles with a pen and spruced them up a bit.
How gorgeous is the insert on the right hand side of this page?! I couldn't bear to cover it up...so I just added a few gems to one of the circles.
One of my favorite things from the Snippets line is the 12x12 patterned paper that is divided into (12) 3x4 cards...you can see 3 of them here on this layout from May.
Snippets is my favorite SC release from this show...the colors, bolder graphic patterns and embellishments all just scream 'ME', lol.

Then again, I did love quite a bit of Sundrifter too...
ack.
Like I could choose a favorite ;)
